How doTERRA Approaches Product Innovation

New product development at doTERRA follows a methodology that emphasizes ingredient quality and formulation science. The company’s CPTG Certified Pure Tested Grade standard applies to finished products as well as raw essential oils, ensuring consistency across the product line.

Global Convention 2025 showcased four new items that illustrate this approach. The RevitaZen+ Advanced Organ Detoxification Complex combines botanicals—black cumin, milk thistle, and artichoke—with essential oils in a dual-chamber capsule. The format separates ingredients that benefit from different delivery timing, using clinically studied compounds alongside doTERRA’s proprietary blends.

A companion product, RevitaZen Detoxification Blend, offers the essential oil component in standalone form. The formula includes tangerine, rosemary, geranium, ginger, juniper berry, and cilantro oils.

Carrier oils have received increased attention. doTERRA’s new Castor Oil carries both CPTG certification and USDA Organic designation. Cold-pressed and hexane-free, the product is rich in ricinoleic acid, a fatty acid with moisturizing properties for skin and hair applications.

The PastTense Stick + Sweet Gum addresses topical application convenience. Building on the existing PastTense blend, this version adds sweet gum essential oil and delivers the formula through a portable stick format designed for on-the-go use on tension-prone areas like temples and neck.

Bekah Nixon, doTERRA’s vice president of global product innovation, has described the annual convention as a defining moment for new offerings: “Each year, we look forward to the excitement from our Wellness Advocates and customers when new products are revealed.”

The 2025 convention drew more than 10,000 attendees to Salt Lake City, where they experienced product demonstrations and education sessions.

Industry recognition has accompanied product development success. Verify Markets awarded doTERRA its Market Leadership Award for 2025, citing innovation alongside market share and sustainability.

Charitable components accompany commercial releases. Limited-time offerings like the Together Touch blend during the 2025 holiday season direct proceeds to the Healing Hands Foundation.
